Facebook to charge $2.99 dollars monthly fee starting November

It seems facebook will no longer be a free service. Facebook CEO Mark Zukerberg  has announced at a press conference in Menlo Park, Carlifornia that the company is unable to keep up with the costs of Facebook and a monthly fee for users is inevitable.

Zukerberg has explained that Facebook is growing with  hundreds and  thousands of members signing up each day and the advertisement system Facebook currently uses is not enough to cover all the cost the social media giants needs to keep the site running. He also continued that if Facebook continue to  remain  free service, there is the possibility of  it having to shut down because of lack of funding.

After thinking long and hard about this decision, at the end of the day, we were forced to add this monthly fee. If we don't do something about our rising cost, Facebook could cease to exist in the near future." - said Mark Zukerberg.

Facebook currently has about 1.317 billion users and if just 75% of those users starts paying the $2.99 monthly the yearly profit would be about 3 billion.  Astounding.

Reportedly Paul Horner, Facebook spokesperson said, there could be a way to waive the monthly fees for users who do not have the money to pay.  He said that even though Facebook will begin  implementing the new user fee starting November 1st, they don't want to loose their members just because they cant afford to pay the monthly subscription fee.  He said users should update their status with the following statement- I AM POOR FACEBOOK PLEASE WAIVE MY MONTHLY FEE with the FacebookmonthlyFee hashtag included.

When Do Babies Start Smiling?

mother kissing baby

By Tamekia Reece

Your baby's smile, particularly the first, is one of the most rewarding moments of parenthood. But just when do babies smile? Learn about when your baby will start smiling and what it means for his social and emotional development.

Believe it or not, your baby was probably smiling long before she was born. Babies can smile very early in life, even in utero, says Mark Gettleman, M.D., a pediatrician and owner of Dr. Goofy Gettwell Pediatrics in Scottsdale, Arizona. These first smiles aren't intentional or in response to anything. They're reflex smiles, similar to the jerky arm and leg movements your baby's body experiences as it goes through the equipment-testing process, Dr. Gettleman says. Soon enough, though, your little cutie will flash her first "real" smile, on purpose. And you, in turn, will have a silly grin plastered on your face as you beam back.

Type of Development: Social, Visual, Emotional

Your baby's first real smile says a lot about his development. It's a sign his vision has improved and he is able to recognize your face. His brain and nervous system have matured enough to eliminate reflex smiles, and he's now aware that smiling is a way for him to connect with others. Your little one is also beginning to realize his feelings matter and have a direct effect on the people around him. He'll smile to express pleasure, excitement, contentment, and happiness. Consider it his way of saying, "Hey, Mom, you're doing a good job!" or "This breast milk rocks! Please give me more."

When to Expect Smiling to Begin

Your baby's reflex smile will disappear by time she's 2 months old, and her first real one will make an appearance somewhere between one and a half to 3 months (or 6 and 12 weeks) of life. You can tell the difference between a reflex and real smile by the timing and duration. Generally, reflex smiles tend to be shorter and occur randomly, when the baby is sleeping or tired. Real smiles, on the other hand, occur in response to something, like seeing her mama's face or hearing a sibling's high-pitched voice, and they are consistent, Dr. Gettleman explains. When it's the real deal, you will see the emotion expressed in your baby's eyes.
If you're still waiting to see your baby's lips curl, there are some things you can do that may encourage her. Talk to her often (make sure you give her time to "respond"), make eye contact frequently, and smile at her throughout the day. Get silly, too. Making funny faces or noises, imitating animal sounds and behaviors, blowing raspberries on your baby's belly, or playing a game of peek-a-boo may push her smiley button on. Just don't overdo it. "Babies are developing the ability to regulate their emotions and may look away if they are getting too much stimulation," says child psychologist David Elkind, Ph.D., author of Parenting on the Go: Birth to Six, A to Z. Give your kiddo a little breather and try again later.

What Smiling Milestones Parents Should Expect

Once your baby does grin, he'll do it again and again. Why shouldn't he? When he graces you with a smile, your eyes brighten, you ooh and ahh, and you reciprocate with a beaming smile of your own. He digs that! At first, your little guy's happy face will be in response to a mix of vocal and visual stimulation, Dr. Elkind says. Therefore, he may light up from watching you sing a favorite lullaby or talk him through a particularly yucky diaper change. Later, when his vision improves, simply seeing the face of his two favorite people (you and your partner!) will be enough to make him crack a smile. You'll be the recipient of most of your baby's smiles, but he'll also exchange grins with others (that is, until stranger anxiety kicks in at around 6 months). As your baby gets more smiling practice and enjoyment from seeing people's reactions, he'll start adding sound effects, Dr. Gettleman says. "It will start with cooing at first, and then lead to small giggles and waves of giggling," he says. By 5 months, your babe may surprise you with full-out belly laughs and squeals of excitement.

Red Flags to Watch Out For

Though you're likely anxious to see your little darling's smile, a lack of early grins doesn't necessarily mean she's unhappy or that something is wrong. Babies will hit this milestone at different times, and some may need a few extra weeks. But if your baby isn't smiling by 3 months, mention it to your pediatrician.

Royal Baby News: Kate Middleton Is Pregnant!

Prince William and Kate Middleton
Stop the world: Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting again! The pregnancy—probably the second-most anticipated ever (after her first, of course)—was confirmed this morning by an official palace announcement.

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child.
The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.
As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.
Poor Kate! The Duchess’ awful morning sickness with Prince George was well-documented, and it’s a huge bummer for her that it’s back again. (Pregnancy symptoms can be different with second pregnancies, after all.)
No word on when Prince George will officially become a big brother, but according to People.com, Kate is “believed to be fewer than three months pregnant.”
We hope Kate feels better soon, and are so excited that Prince George is going to be a big brother! Congrats to the Royal family!
Are you expecting? Find out what’s going on at every stage with our Daily Kick newsletters. And don’t forget to like Everything Pregnancy on Facebook to keep up with the latest pregnancy news (including the latest on the royal baby!).

Rev. Opambour Lays Down the Law - All Ailments are Welcome Except "EBOLA"

Rev. Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom is not like your typical pastor, he has a slot on prime time tv in Ghana, and he often take time to make some pretty ridiculous claims.  This talent of his keeps him not particularly far from controversy at all times.

He hit the airwaves somewhere last month after claiming Ebola originates from canibalism and not bush meat as had been scientifically proven for decades, thus encouraging his congregation to patronize bush meat all they can, the enigmatic preacher has made another rousing declaration, one that is as certain to capture the public,s imagination as his last pronouncement  did, according to starrfimonline he told his congregation that whilst any and all ailments are welcome in his church, Ebola is where he draws the line.

He said wherever you are in Ghana come for your healing and deliverance. Whatever burden you have been laden with come here God will deliver you through me.  But if you have Ebola dont come here because we are not ready for you.

Thankfully Ebola is not in Ghana yet so all this is hypothetical.  We might never have to deal with Ebola which is sweeping through other parts of West Africa a pace which should scare everyone.

So What Do Men Really Think About Women

They say women are hard to understand. Scores of books have been written a la ‘Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus’ just to understand this enigma called: Woman. Women have also done their own research and have twisted card calculations and Linda Goodman’s astrological predictions to gauge what exactly is going on in the mind of the opposite sex. Let’s make it a little easier for the fairer sex and dole out some of the things men think about women, but most of the time, won’t admit to it.

1. Women love a bargain. The question of “need” is irrelevant, so don’t bother pointing it out. Anything on sale is fair game.

2. Women never have anything to wear. Don’t question the racks of clothes in the closet; you “just don’t understand”.

3. Women need to cry. And they won’t do it alone unless they know you can hear them.

4. Women will always ask questions that have no right answer, in an effort to trap you into feeling guilty.

5. Women love to talk. Silence intimidates them and they feel a need to fill it, even if they have nothing to say.

6. Women hate bugs. Even the strong-willed ones need a man around when there’s a spider or a wasp involved.

7. Women can’t keep secrets. They eat away at them from the inside. And they don’t view it as being untrustworthy, providing they only tell two or three people.

8. If a man goes on a seven-day trip, he’ll pack five days worth of clothes and will wear some things twice; if a woman goes on a seven-day trip she’ll pack 21 outfits because she doesn’t know what she’ll feel like wearing each day.

9. Women brush their hair before bed. What is the need when all you are going to do, is get some sleep????

10. Women are never wrong. Apologizing is the man’s responsibility, “It’s there in the Bible”.

11. The average number of items in a typical woman’s bathroom is 437. A man would not be able to identify most of these items.

12. Women love cats. Men say they love cats, but when women aren’t looking, men kick cats.

13. Women love to talk on the phone. A woman can visit her girlfriend for two weeks, and upon returning home, she will call the same friend and they will talk for three hours.

14. A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the garbage, answer the phone, read a book, or get the mail.

15. Women do NOT want an honest answer to the question, ‘How do I look?’

16. Women cannot use a map without turning the map to correspond to the direction that they are heading.

A New Solution That Stops Snoring and Lets You Sleep

A New Solution That Stops Snoring and Lets You Sleep

If you’re like most Americans you probably don’t get eight hours sleep each night.

But, if you also constantly feel exhausted, experience headaches for no obvious reason or have high blood pressure, you could have a more serious problem.
That’s because these can all be the result of snoring—which is, in turn, the most common symptom of a potentially serious health problem—obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
While most people think of snoring as a minor annoyance, research shows it can be hazardous to your health.  That’s because for over 18 million Americans it’s related to obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). People who suffer from OSA repeatedly and unknowingly stop breathing during the night due to a complete or partial obstruction of their airway.  It occurs when the jaw, throat, and tongue muscles relax, blocking the airway used to breathe.  The resulting lack of oxygen can last for a minute or longer, and occur hundreds of times each night.

Thankfully, most people wake when a complete or partial obstruction occurs, but it can leave you feeling completely exhausted.  OSA has also been linked to a host of health problems including:

  • Acid reflux
  • Frequent nighttime urination
  • Memory loss
  • Stroke
  • Depression
  • Diabetes
  • Heart attack
People over 35 are at higher risk.
OSA can be expensive to diagnosis and treat, and is not always covered by insurance.  A sleep clinic will require an overnight visit (up to $5,000).  Doctors then analyze the data and prescribe one of several treatments.  These may require you to wear uncomfortable CPAP devices that force air through your nose and mouth while you sleep to keep your airways open, and may even include painful surgery.
Fortunately, there is now a comfortable, far less costly and invasive treatment option available.  A recent case study published by Eastern Virginia Medical School's Division of Sleep Medicine in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine concludes that wearing a simple chinstrap while you sleep can be an effective treatment for OSA.
The chin strap, which is now available from a company called MySnoringSolution, works by supporting the lower jaw and tongue, preventing obstruction of the airway.  It’s made from a high-tech, lightweight, and super-comfortable material.  Thousands of people have used the MySnoringSolution chinstrap to help relieve their snoring symptoms, and they report better sleeping, and better health overall because of it.

An effective snoring solution for just $119

The “My Snoring Solution” Chinstrap is available exclusively from the company’s website which is currently offering a limited time “2 for 1” offer.  The product also comes with a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee.

If you want to stop snoring once and for all, without expensive CPAP devices or other intrusive devices, this may be the solution you’ve been waiting for.  The free additional strap is great for travel or as a gift for a fellow sufferer.
Best of all, this product comes with an unconditional 90-day, money-back guarantee!

Just Diagnosed with Depression: Four Brain-Boosting Foods to Manage Your Illness

fooddepression
Many people will suffer from at least one depression episode over the course of their lives. The likelihood of a recurrence is 50%–60%!
With the bad economy creating financial, health, and social burdens, depression diagnoses are likely to increase.
That’s why many people turn only to medications and psychotherapy; however, you should also consider a healthy diet to supplement your overall treatment for depression.
Researchers have long studied the effects and benefits of antidepressants, but recently, research about food and its effectiveness on depression treatment has surfaced. More research needs to be done on the benefits that certain food and nutrients can have on depression, but either way, altering your diet as a part of your treatment plan can definitely have you reaping many health benefits.
The underlying causes of depression are still a mystery because of a lack of long-term studies and limited research in the area. People who suffer from depression may need more of certain nutrients than the average person; perhaps this is because of a gene mutation affecting the necessary enzymes in nutrient metabolism.
That is why what you eat is very important if you are trying to treat depression or have a family history of it. Combining therapy with the following four mood-boosting nutrients can improve your mood and mental health!
Brain-Boosting Foods: B Vitamins (B6, B12, and Folate)
These vitamins play a critical role in producing serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is important for regulating mood, behavior, satiety, and food intake in your central nervous system. Therefore, low levels of B6, B12, and folate may lead to depression.
As you age, the amount of vitamin B12 that you absorb decreases; therefore, it is important to eat a diet containing this vitamin.
Food Sources: Vitamin B6 can be found in poultry, tuna, salmon, beef, liver, lentils, sunflower seeds, bran, bananas, carrots, and potatoes with skin. Vitamin B12 can be found in foods of animal origin such as dairy products (milk, cheese, and yogurt), liver, beef, pork, fish, clams and oysters. Folate can be found in green vegetables, edamame, avocado, orange juice, beans, lentils, and whole grains (pasta, bread, and crackers).
Brain-Boosting Foods: Tryptophan
This is an essential amino acid that is also important for producing serotonin. Studies have shown it’s not effective to consume foods with serotonin, since serotonin cannot pass through barriers to get to the brain. Tryptophan is a precursor for serotonin, meaning that it can turn into serotonin. It is able to cross the barrier into the brain and, in combination with vitamin B6, it produces serotonin. The combination of these two nutrients is important for an antidepressant effect. Low levels of tryptophan have been shown to induce depression.
Food Sources: Tryptophan is found in many protein-rich foods, though in much smaller amounts compared to other amino acids. You can find tryptophan in lamb, fish, poultry, cheese, milk, eggs, potatoes, and bananas.
Brain-Boosting Foods: Polyunsaturated Fats
Polyunsaturated fats, such as omega-3 fatty acids, are an important part of serotonin metabolism. Low intake of these good fats has been shown to change the way serotonin and other neurotransmitters work, resulting in a decrease in blood flow in the brain, an increase in inflammation, and a loss of neurons. While omega-3 fats have been shown to decrease depressive symptoms, current evidence is limited, and therefore these results are inconclusive. But they are still worthwhile to eat, because omega-3 fats also have many other health benefits, such as the reduction of bad cholesterol, blood pressure and inflammation.
Food Sources: Omega-3 fats can be found in fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel or sardines, as well as walnuts, flaxseed, and canola oil.
Brain-Boosting Foods: Selenium
This is another mineral that can have an effect on decreasing depressive symptoms. One of the reasons why is that selenium plays a role in producing thyroid hormones—decreased thyroid functioning has been shown to be associated with depressive symptoms. Studies have reported that those on a very-low-selenium diet, compared to a higher selenium diet, have shown more symptoms of depression and hostility.
Food Sources: Selenium can be found in foods such as mushrooms, pasta, rice, milk, cheese, yogurt, nuts, eggs, beans, tofu, oysters, fish, liver poultry, beef, pork, and lamb.
Dealing with depression is never easy, but you don’t have to suffer in silence. You can turn to therapy, medications, and diet and exercise changes to make a difference.

Healthy Mind: IS YOUR BRAIN WIRED FOR HEALTH?

Having a Healthy Mind is essential to the healing process. And Emotional Healthy living is a core component of achieving a healthy mind. Our brain chemicals run our bodies. They are the messengers and communicators. If these chemicals are out of balance then our bodies are out of balance.
Science of the brain has come a long way over the years. Today we better understand how neuropath ways are formed, how negative patterns of thinking can ultimately undermine our physical and mental health, and how developing healthier patterns will ultimately play an enormous role in our overall physical and mental well being.
I spent many hours in bed reading, trying to find information to explain what was happening in my body and how I could help myself feel better.
Below you will find a list of links to valuable sites as well as links to articles that I have written or drawn valuable information from to help me in developing a new way of thinking and gaining emotional healthy living.

Healthy Living

“Health is not simply the absence of sickness.”

What is the true definition of Healthy Living? It sounds silly that we need to define Healthy Living. After all, we know what Healthy is and we also know what Living is. Let‘s first start with what Health is.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Interestingly enough, health is not simply defined as just the absence of disease. The actual definition of Healthy Living is the steps, actions and strategies one puts in place to achieve optimum health. Healthy Living is about taking responsibility and making smart health choices for today and for the future. Eating right, getting physically fit, emotional wellness, spiritual wellness and prevention are all apart of creating a healthy lifestyle. Since the entire YOU, meaning all aspects of one’s self, must work in harmony to achieve wellness, you need to put balanced energy into each aspect of yourself.
• The body or Physical You requires good nutrition, appropriate weight, beneficial exercise, adequate rest and proper stress management.
• The mind or Emotional You needs self-supportive attitudes, positive thoughts and viewpoints and a positive self-image. You also need to give and receive forgiveness, love and compassion; you need to laugh and experience happiness; you need joyful relationships with yourself and others.
• The Spiritual You requires inner calmness, openness to your creativity, and trust in your inner knowing. And for some it requires having a relationship with a higher power.
We all know when the Physical You is out of balance. Our body tells us right away. We feel fatigue or catch a cold or maybe become chronically ill. But how do we know when the Emotional You or Spiritual You are out of balance? Read the articles below.

Sonnie Badu Gets Married and Dance to Adult Music At His Wedding

London certainly came alive for the wedding of Sonnie Badu a Ghanaian gospel musician based in london and Ann Marrie Davis. Some members of the entertainment industry like John Domelo and Juliet Ibrahim was there.  Chief Dele Momodu was also there.

It is often rare to see a man of God or a gospel musician singing or dancing to secular music in public and yet on such rare occasions when he does that  there is always an element of oddity and a spectacle of shock in the atmosphere and when the music in question has explicit content the shock at times turns to disbelief.

This scenario could be well described at the wedding of Ghanaian gospel musician  Sonnie Badu who on his wedding day started his first dance with his wife, Kwabena Kwabena,s adult music with samini.

Well we wish them all the best in their marriage.

Why Pregnancy Workouts Build Better Babies

Reason number one to make time for pregnancy exercises? Those workouts can be good for your baby, too!

You've probably long since gotten the memo that exercising for 30 minutes most days of the week is good for you. But did you know that recent studies support the idea that pregnancy workouts are also good for your baby's health?
"The way I look at it, anything you're doing for you, you're doing for the baby, too," says Rebecca Scritchfield, a Washington, D.C.-based registered dietitian and ACSM certified health fitness specialist. Here's what we learned to back that up: Research shows that exercise during pregnancy has health and fitness benefits for both of you.

More Advanced Brains

A 2013 study published by researchers at the University of Montreal compared the cognitive development of two groups of babies. One half was born to moms who had at least 20 minutes of moderate-intensity cardiovascular exercise (think: walking or jogging) three days each week; the other, to moms who were sedentary.
The researchers compared how the brains of both sets of babies responded to sound at one month of age, which is a measure of cognitive development. They found that babies born to the exercising mothers had more mature brain function -- more advanced brains -- than those born to the less active moms.
No one is sure yet how long that brain development advantage lasts -- they're continuing to study it -- but "these are very interesting results," says Sheryl Ross, M.D., an ob-gyn at Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California. Whatever the ongoing research finds, even a little boost in brainpower sounds good to us.

Better Heart Health

In a 2011 study from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Missouri, researchers assessed the heart activity of pregnant mothers and their infants-to-be. They found evidence that aerobic activity affects babies in much the same way that it helps their moms.
The women in this study had different levels of physical activity, but scientists found that the fetuses of pregnant women who worked out at least 30 minutes a day, three days a week, had lower heart rates (a sign of heart health). And when those women's one-month-old babies were tested, they also had lower heart rates, as well as better heart rate variability, which is a sign that their nervous systems were better controlling their hearts.
"If this result -- that exercise offers cardiovascular protection -- is supported by further research," Dr. Ross says, "it could certainly support the idea that healthy cardiovascular activity during pregnancy could be the best start for your baby's health in the future."

Healthier Birth Weight

A study conducted in New Zealand in 2010 showed that mothers who exercise while pregnant tend to have babies born at healthier weights. Though all the babies in the study were born in the healthy range, "babies born to moms who worked out regularly were found to be about five ounces lighter on average," Dr. Ross says.

"That [healthier birthweight] makes recovery from delivery better, limiting sugar shifts and making the babies less prone to diabetes," Dr. Ross continues. Some experts also believe that babies born at healthy weights are also less likely to be obese in later life.

"Most of these studies are anecdotal -- the tests were performed on small numbers of patients," Dr. Ross says. "I'd like to see them duplicated, but they're certainly worth considering -- especially if they encourage women to be their healthiest selves during their pregnancies."

HOW TO LEAD A PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE

We are products of our past, but we do not have to be prisoners of our past.  Without God life has no purpose and without purpose life has no meaning, without meaning life has no significance or hope.  Without a clear purpose, you keep changing directions jobs, relationships, churches and almost everything hoping each change will settle the confusion or fill the emptiness in your heart.

You begin to  think maybe this time it will be different but it does not solve your problem - a lack of purpose.  God has a purpose for each one of us, how you define life determines your destiny, your perspective will influence how you invest your time, spend your money and value your relationship.

To fulfill the  purpose God made for you, you have to challenge conventional wisdom and replace it with the biblical metaphors of life.  The bible says do not conform to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of mind, then you will be able to know the will of  God.

Also writing down your purpose on paper will help you think specifically about the path of your life.  The bible says know where you are headed and  you will stay on solid ground.  A life purpose statement not only spells out what you intend to do with you time, life and money but also implies what you should avoid.

11 Ways Your Body Changes After Pregnancy

How will your body look after your baby arrives? Here, the major changes you'll experience, from hair loss to constipation.
 Karin A. Bilich
woman combing hair

Hair Loss

A few weeks after delivery, you may start losing large amounts of hair. The average person loses 100 hairs a day, but during pregnancy you were losing far less than that due to those raging hormones. Now that the pregnancy is over, your body will have to compensate and lose extra hair for the first six months after delivery. But don't worry -- your hair will soon return to its normal growth cycle.
woman looking in mirror

Skin Discoloration

Some women develop what's called the "mask ofpregnancy." That tan-colored area around your eyes will start to fade. Women who suffered from severe acne during pregnancy should see their skin start to clear up. However, other women will begin to experience a red rash that around their mouth and chin or suffer from extremely dry skin. Both of these conditions should be gone within weeks.
woman feeling breast

Breast Changes

Your breasts will probably become flushed, swollen, sore, and engorged with milk for a day or two after the birth. Once this swelling goes down, in about three to four days (or until you stop breastfeeding), your breasts will probably begin to sag as a result of the stretched skin. You may also experience milk leakage for several weeks, even if you don't breastfeed.
woman pinching skin

Stomach Changes

Just after giving birth, your uterus is still hard and round (weighing about 2 1/2 pounds) and can be felt just by touching your naval. In about six weeks, it will weigh only 2 ounces and will no longer be felt by pressing on your abdomen. That mysterious brown line that you may have had down the center of your lower abdomen duringpregnancy will disappear. But, unfortunately, those stretch marks you developed aren't going anywhere in the near future. Stretch marks tend to be bright red during and shortly after pregnancy, but they will eventually become more of a silver color and begin to blend in with your skin. Also, even the fittest moms will experience some flabbiness in the midsection after giving birth. Sit-ups, certain yoga poses, and other abdominal exercises can get your tummy as flat as it once was.
backache

Back Pain

Because it will take some time for the stretched abdomen muscles to become strong again, your body is putting extra weight on the muscles of your back. This can lead to a backache until the abdominal muscles tighten up again. A new mom can also be suffering from back pain due to poor posture during pregnancy. Generally, these problems should clear up in the first six weeks after giving birth. If not, you may want to see a chiropractor.
Incontinence

Incontinence

Without the baby pressing on your bladder any more, you're not urinating as frequently. But pressure on the urethra during delivery can make urination difficult postpartum. New moms may also suffer from incontinence or a urinary tract infection, which can cause a burning sensation during urination.

Constipation

If you were constipated during pregnancy, you may still have a problem with constipation, even after you give birth. An episiotomy or hemorrhoids may make a bowel movement painful. A diet high in fiber and plenty of water, milk, and juices can help ease the pain.

Vaginal pain and discharge

Your vagina may feel stretched and tender after the delivery. If you had an episiotomy, using cold packs right after delivery can help ease discomfort. Shortly after delivery, you will start to have a vaginal discharge made mostly of blood and what is left of the uterine lining from yourpregnancy. This is called lochia and can last for several weeks. You can usually start having sex again about three to four weeks after giving birth. If you're breastfeeding at that point, you may experience vaginal dryness, which can make intercourse very uncomfortable. Look for a water-soluble vaginal lubricant to ease the pain. If you're not breastfeeding, expect your period to return about seven to nine weeks after delivery. If you are breastfeeding, your periods may not return for several months -- or possibly not until you stop breastfeeding altogether.

Swollen legs and varicose veins

The swelling and puffiness in your legs that you may have experienced during pregnancy will lessen very quickly after you give birth. However, some women begin experiencing twitchiness in their legs postpartum. If this happens to you, walking can provide some relief. Spider veins and varicose veins will probably improve with postpartum weight loss, but they will never go away completely.

Sweating

You may start experiencing excessive sweating at night after giving birth. This is because your body needs to get rid of all the extra fluids it accumulated during your pregnancy.

Energy Levels

Some new mothers say that they feel more energetic than they ever did before pregnancy. In fact, a woman's aerobic capacity can increase up to 20 percent in the first six weeks postpartum. Other women say that the sheer exhaustion of childbirth, caring for a newborn, and excess body weight makes them feel sluggish and moody.
